Bottom line: Get your clothes cleaned somewhere else!

Golden Touch ruined one of my soccer jerseys by placing an iron directly on the numbers. The numbers were peeled off, though the jersey had been cleaned, and they just put the jersey into a plastic sleeve and delivered it to my office as though nothing had happened.

What makes me especially mad is that I a note pinned to the jersey telling them NOT to iron the numbers directly and if they didn't know how to do that, then just return the jersey to me as is.

Everyone makes mistakes, and I'm willing to accept that. But it's the way the staff handled this that really makes me angry.

I called the manager to tell him about this, and the first thing he says is, "How do I know that you're telling the truth." He asks me how he knows the jersey wasn't already damaged. Funny thing is that I have a picture of me wearing that jersey the day before I took it to the cleaners, so that shut him up.

Despite that, he never offered to refund me for the cost of cleaning my jersey, much less taking responsibility for having ruined my jersey, or paying for it.

I've repeatedly called Golden Touch to leave messages for the owner, and I've never gotten a call back. It could either be that he never gets the messages or doesn't care to return my call. I've asked the staff when the owner will be at the cleaner's. On two occasions, I've driven from my office in Irvine to Newport Beach. Both times, he's never there.

I've given up on these guys. It's been over a year of me trying to get their attention, and they just don't seem to care.

I always say that you can tell the character of person (or a business) in times of adversity. That's when people show you their true character. These guys failed the test, time after time, over the course of the last year. They've had ample opportunity to make amends, but they've simply given me the run-around.
